Strong, athletic and possessing a quick line drive stroke with power potential, Alford looks to be a very solid prospect on the baseball field. He is also a top prospect on the football field as well, as he is the 10th ranked athlete in the 2012 class, according to ESPN. Alford is one of the top athletes in his class, is a plus runner and shows great present strength. He has very good bat speed, and if he decides to put the time in on the diamond, he could reach his full potential as a power hitting outfielder, who also hits for average.

Defensively, he has an average arm at best, looking below average, but he could be a solid left fielder. Alford looks to be a very tough sign, as he has informed teams that he intends to play both football and baseball at Southern Mississippi.
